SAN ANTONIO – Coming off a season-opening win against McNeese, the University of the Incarnate Word football team travels to Lamar on Saturday, March 6 at 3 p.m. CT. 
 
KICKOFF COVERAGE 
  
 SCOUTING UIW 
	- Following the 48- 20 win at McNeese, UIW is receiving votes in the Stats Perform FCS Top 25 Poll. 
 
	- The 48-20 win is the largest road win under third-year head coach Eric Morris and is tied for the largest margin since he took over the program.  
 
	- Ce'Cori Tolds recorded a 101-yard kickoff return touchdown against McNeese for his fourth career kickoff return for a score. He was named Southland Conference Special Teams Player of the Week on March 1.  
 
	- In his UIW debut, freshman quarterback Cameron Ward matched a true freshman record for most touchdown passes in a single game with four against the Cowboys.  
 
	- Defensively, the Cardinals were led by Kelechi Anyalebechi's nine solo tackles as well as Chance Main's six solo and one assist with two sacks for a loss of 13 yards.  
 
	- The Cardinals' defense recorded four sacks against McNeese which ranks sixth in the nation and first in the Southland for team sacks.  
 
	- UIW played staunch defense against McNeese limiting them to just two-of-nine on third downs in the first half while allowing no fourth down conversions for the game. 
 
	- Carson Mohr was perfect in PATs against the Cowboys, making six-of-six. The Sophomore also made two field goals and is now third in the UIW record book for field goals made.  
 
	- In coach Morris' first season (2018), the Cardinals won six games (tying a program record for single-season wins), securing a share of the Southland Conference Championship and the program's first berth in the FCS Playoffs. 
 
  
 SCOUTING LAMAR 
	- The Lamar Cardinals are in their first season under head coach Blane Morgan. 
 
	- Lamar opened the Spring 2021 season with a 55-0 loss against No. 9 Nicholls on Feb. 27. 
 
	- The Beaumont Cardinals are a young team with 51 freshmen on the roster. 
 
	- Quarterback Jalen Dummett led the squad against the Colonels completing 9-of-11 passes for 40 yards while also carrying the ball 11 times for 13 yards.  
 
	- Defensively, Aaron Calcote's eight tackles were a team-high against Nicholls.
