SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word women's basketball team returns to action on the road against McNeese on Monday, Feb. 8 inside Burton Coliseum at 6:30 p.m. CT.
The Cardinals remain on the road in Louisiana as they take on Northwestern State on Wednesday Feb. 10, at 6:30 p.m. CT.

CARDINAL QUICK FACTS
- UIW returns to action for the first time since its opening Southland Conference match against SFA at home on Jan. 16.
- The Cardinals closed out 2020 and the nonconference schedule on the road against Big 12 opponent Texas Tech on Dec. 29.
- In five career starts, freshman Jaaucklyn Moore leads the squad with 11.6 ppg. (13th SLC), with an impeccable 8-for-8 from the charity line and shooting well from beyond the arc at a rate of 34.5%.
- UIW's 3-point defense in six games, holding opponents to just 24.8%, leads the Southland Conference and currently sits 15th-best in the nation.
SCOUTING THE COWGIRLS
- The series between the Cardinals and the Cowgirls is tied 4-4. UIW swept McNeese last season and holds a three-game winning streak over the blue and yellow.
- McNeese (4-8, 4-1 SLC) is currently second in league standings behind SFA.
- Junior Divine Tanks leads the Cowgirls in SLC play averaging 12.7 ppg. While bringing down 9.0 r rebounds per game. The Lake Charles, Louisiana, native is shooting at a rate of 51.6% from the field.
- Sophomore Kayla Hamilton is also a large contributor for McNeese with 12.6 ppg., 5.8 reb., 2.6 assists per game, while shooting 33.3% from three and 70.8% from the charity line.
- McNeese's only loss in conference play so far came against Nicholls on Jan. 27 falling 63-43.
SCOUTING THE LADY DEMONS
- The series is tied in all-time head to heads at 4-4. The Cardinals hold a four-game winning streak over the Lady Demons.
- Northwestern State is 0-13 overall and 0-8 on the season.
- The team is averaging 44.8 ppg while giving up 81.5 ppg.
- The Lady Demon roster has just 11 players for the 2020-21 season. The young squad has just two seniors and one junior on the roster.
- Anessa Dussette leads the team in scoring with 9.5 ppg while contributing a team-high 5.5 boards per game.
- Tristen Washington is also among the top scorers for the purple and white at a rate of 8.5 ppg.
- Northwestern State played a tough non-conference slate that saw them fall to two top 10 ranked teams early in the season to then No. 7 Baylor and then No. 9 Texas A&M.
