SAN ANTONIO – University of the Incarnate Word hosts two conference foes this week. UIW welcomes Houston Baptist University on Thursday, October 14 at 6:30 p.m. and McNeese on Saturday, October 16 at 2:00 p.m.

The Cardinals and Huskies last faced off on March 4, 2021, when the Cardinals fell 3-1.

Chase Jackson led UIW's offense combining for 23 kills in the match. Clapp,
Annamarie Alvarez and
Jacqueline Arrington led the Cardinals at the net combining for seven total blocks.
Audrey Patton led the Cardinal defense with 17 digs on the match.
Regan Leinen and Jada Allen led the Huskies' offense combing for 22 kills on the day. The Huskies had a strong day at the serving line registering 10 aces. Anna Gadway and Mikayla Vivens led the Huskie defense totaling 27 digs.
The Huskies led the series history 6-4. The Cardinals led the Huskies at home 3-2. This is the tenth time the two programs will face each other as Southland Conference foes.
MSU (UIW, 3-0; 25-15, 25-23, 25-17)
The Cardinals and Cowboys last matched up on March 27, 2021, in Lake Charles where the Cardinals swept the Cowboys. The Cardinals outscored the Cowboys in points (57-40), kills (38-30), aces (6-5), blocks (13-5), and assists (34-28).
Clapp, Jackson and Arrington led UIW's offense combining for 22 kills on the match.
Nailah Landon and Arrington led the Cardinals at the net registering 14 total blocks.
Macy Sumrall led the Cardinal defense with 13 digs.
Kendall Glueck and Baylee Laskoskie led the Cowboy's offense with seven kills each. Shelby Epley, Glueck and Laskoskie all registered a block on the match. Regan Stiawalt led McNeese's defense tallying 13 digs.
UIW (8-11 Overall, 3-2 SLC)
Is coming off a perfect 2-0 weekend in Louisiana where they faced New Orleans and Nicholls. The Cardinals swept New Orleans 3-0 and had a reverse sweep against Nicholls coming back from a 2-0 lead to take the set 3-2.
HBU (13-6 Overall, 4-1 SLC)
Is coming off a split weekend against Northwestern State and Southeastern Louisiana. The Huskies fell to the Lady Demons 0-3 in their match on Thursday, October 7. The Huskies then turned around to defeat the Lions of Southeastern Louisiana 3-2 on Saturday, October 9.
MSU (9-7 Overall, 3-2 SLC)
Is coming off a split weekend against Southeastern Louisiana and Northwestern State. The Cowboys fell to the Lions 2-3 in their match on Thursday, October 7. McNeese came back from the loss with a sweep against Northwestern State on Saturday, October 9.
