1/29 - WOMEN'S TENNIS

• The women's tennis team fell (6-1) to Houston on Jan. 29 at the Mabry Tennis Center.
• Brandelyn Fulgenzi, continuing to play on court one, improved her individual record to 2-0 with a 6-2, 6-1 defeat of Mim Kendall-Woseley.
• The Cardinals play again on Feb. 5 when they host Prairie View A&M. at 11 a.m. CT at Mabry Tennis Center. Admission is free, but fans should fill out the Cardinal Daily Health Check prior to arriving at the match.

 
1/29 - CROSS COUNTRY

• The men's and women's cross country teams hosted their sole meet of the season before Southland Conference Championships take place in Hammond, Louisiana on Feb. 15.
• The women claimed third overall in the 6K race with 64 points, just one point behind conference foe Central Arkansas. Abilene Christian took first as a team with 53 points.
• Freshman Andrea Acuna was the top female finisher for the Cardinals crossing the finish line at 21:39.4 for fourth place.
• Armando Villarreal led the pack of men's 8K race and crossed the finish line third with a time of 24:04.7.

 
1/31 - MEN'S TENNIS

• UIW fell to host LSU, 6-1 on Sunday night.
• Freshman Marwin Kralemann won at No. 3 singles, 6-4, 6-3, over Malik Bhatnagar.
• Senior Warren Fulgenzi and freshmen Marko Galic and Arnau Miralles each played tough singles matches as Miralles tied the match at 5-5 before falling 7-5, 6-2 at No. 4 singles. Fulgenzi dropped a hard-fought 6-3, 6-4 match at No. 5 singles and Galic fell 6-2, 6-3 at the No. 6 position.
• The Cardinals (2-2 overall) are back in action against Prairie View A&M at the Mabry Tennis Center on Friday, Feb. 5, starting at 11 a.m. CT. Admission is free, but fans should fill out the Cardinal Daily Health Check prior to arriving at the match.
