HAMMOND, La. -- The University of the Incarnate Word women's soccer team travels to face Southeastern Louisiana on Friday, kicking off at 7 p.m. (CT).

THE CARDINALS
This weekend's match against the Lions comes after the Cardinals secured a 1-0 win over Texas A&M- Corpus Christi in their SLC home opener (Sept. 20). The lone goal of the match came in overtime in the form of a
Keeley Ayala penalty kick. This shutout improved UIW's record to 2-6 (1-0 SLC). This season, UIW contributes, on average, 11.5 shots per game. The Cardinals are two-for-two on penalty kick goals.
Last time these two schools faced off, the Cardinals held the Lady Lions through two overtime periods to leave the match tied, 1-1.
THE LIONS
Southeastern Louisiana hosts this match after a long road stretch that concluded with a 1-0 loss to McNeese in its SLC opener. SLU has put up 59 shots on the season for an average of 7.4 shots per game, while its keeper, Nadine Maher, has tallied 38 saves on 81 shots faced.
