TULSA, Okla. -- The University of the Incarnate Word men's soccer team fell to the University of Tulsa, 4-0, on Friday night at Hurricane Soccer & Track Stadium.
HOW IT HAPPENED
FIRST HALF:
Tulsa and UIW both began the game with strong offensive performances. The Cardinals accumulated five shots (including two on target) in the first half, while the Hurricanes racked up eight shots (including three on goal).
Andres Arce successfully protected the net, gathering three saves in the first half for UIW. Both
Miguel Velasquez and
Kas Van Eekelen recorded two shots to lead the offensive attack.
SECOND HALF:
The UIW defense halted four of Tulsa's shots from reaching the net to start the second half. The Hurricanes had an offensive push in the last 20 minutes, netting four goals to take a 4-0 advantage. Velasquez recorded three more shots in the second half, ending the night with five shots (two on target), but was unable to score for the Cardinals. The night ended with a 4-0 win for Tulsa.
