Box Score SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word volleyball team fell to UTSA, 3-0, on Tuesday night at UTSA's Convocation Center.
HOW IT HAPPENED
SETS 1 AND 2 (16-25 and 16-25) | With the score tied at 5-5, UTSA went on to score three consecutive points en route to a first set victory. In set two, the Roadrunners got on the board quickly and held on to the lead through the set, but not without a fight from UIW. The Cardinals found some gaps in the UTSA back line and held on for a couple of long rallies, but they were unable to convert.
SET 3 (8-25) | The Cardinals got on the board early on in the set, and led for three points until the Roadrunners tied up the match at 3-3. UTSA went on to lead for the remainder of the set and win the match.
UP NEXT
The Cardinals travel to Lubbock, Texas, for the Red Raider Classic on Friday and Saturday (Sept. 20-21). They will face UTEP, Texas Tech and Houston in their final tournament before diving into Southland Conference play against Abilene Christian (Sept. 26).
