SAN ANTONIO -- The University of the Incarnate Word men's soccer team improved to an impressive 3-1 record as the Cardinals secured a 1-0 triumph over Our Lady of the Lake on Thursday night at Benson Stadium.
HOW IT HAPPENED
FIRST HALF:
Both the Saints and the Cardinals kept even offensive pressure on the ball in the first half, with each team tallying three shots. UIW attempted to use their four corner kicks to set up opportunities for scoring but were unable to break through the OLLU defensive line.
SECOND HALF:
After the Saints goalkeeper received a red card in the 49th minute,
Kas Van Eekelen successfully netted the penalty shot for a goal, giving the Cardinals a 1-0 advantage. UIW fought to hold on to their lead and successfully secured the 1-0 win over OLLU.
