Baltimore, Md. -- The University of the Incarnate Word men's soccer team secured a 2-1 victory over University of Maryland-Baltimore County on Friday night at Retriever Soccer Park.

HOW IT HAPPENED
FIRST HALF:
The UIW defense combined to stop all four of UMBC's shots to put up a clean slate in the first half. The Retrievers blocked the Cardinals' three shots to end the first half 0-0.
SECOND HALF:
The Cardinals took advantage of a weak moment in the Retrievers defense, scoring two goals in the 53rd minute. Feldman scored the first goal, then earned the assist as
Miguel Velasquez scored the second goal, giving UIW a 2-0 advantage. The UIW defense stayed strong to halt nine shots by UMBC in the second half before giving up a goal in the 69th minute to make the final score 2-1.
