ABILENE, Texas -- The University of the Incarnate Word men's tennis team fell, 4-3, at Abilene Christian on Friday afternoon at the Eager Tennis Center.
HOW IT HAPPENED
ACU took the lead with a doubles win, securing the point with victories on courts one and three. In singles,
Caleb Dyer's 6-2, 6-2 triumph over Akinori Wada in the No. 6 spot drew UIW even, but
Sebastian Mortier dropped a 6-3, 6-4 decision to #119 Josh Sheehy on court one as the Wildcats regained the advantage.
ACU extended its lead with a victory on court four, but
Oliver Valentinsson won, 6-2, 2-6, 6-1, in the No. 5 position to close the gap. A win on court two secured four points for the Wildcats before
Paco Bendana captured a 5-7, 7-5, 6-2 triumph over Dimitris Azoides on court three for the final dual score of 4-3, in favor of ACU.
