HOW IT HAPPENED
Game 1
McNeese got on the board early with a run, but Neatherlin responded in the top of the second inning with a solo shot over the left-field wall. The Cowgirls then scored five unanswered runs during the bottom half of the second and third innings before Guzman hit a home run in the sixth inning. The Cowgirls bounced back with a run of their own to make it 7-2 in the sixth inning and held onto their lead for the remainder of the game.
Game 2
Once again, McNeese struck first with a pair of runs in the opening frame, adding two in the third and three more in the fifth. The Cardinal scored on a sacrifice hit from Wendel to chip away at the deficit, but the Cowgirls would retain their lead for a 7-1 victory.
