HOW IT HAPPENED
Game 1
The bats didn't get going for either team until the fifth inning when both squads scored a pair of runs in their respective frames. Bleiberg drove in the first two runs on a deep drive off the center-field wall, while the Lady Tigers scored on a single and an error. TSU added two runs in the sixth to open up a 4-2 lead, but the Cardinals responded with an RBI single from Sobolewski to cut the deficit to just one. UIW couldn't finish the comeback, however, falling to TSU 4-3.
Game 2
UIW struck first on an RBI single from Sobolewski. Jaylin Olivarez hit a two-RBI single in the sixth to extend the Cardinals' lead to 3-0. In the top of the 7th, the Lady Tigers scratched three runs across the board to send the game into extra innings, and took their first lead of the game in the top of the eighth inning with an RBI double followed by an RBI single. But the Cardinals roared back in the bottom half of the inning, scoring on Goins' single to right field and the big two-RBI single from Sobolewski for the walkoff victory. The final score was UIW 6, TSU 5.
