SAN ANTONIO – University of the Incarnate Word's volleyball team will be playing their final two home games of the season this week as they take on Abilene Christian on Thursday at 6 p.m. (CT) and then Stephen F. Austin on Saturday at noon for senior day.
THE CARDINALS
- UIW earned its second conference victory against Lamar last Thursday, 3-1.
- Bethany Clapp emerged in the top-10 in the SLC in total points as she sits in ninth place with a total of 339.5 points (282 kills, 30 aces, 7 solo blocks and 41 block assists).
- Carissa McGarity has been efficient with her attacking as she is 10th in the Southland in hitting percentage at .294.
- Presley Blaylock and Pilar Gonzaba are currently eighth and ninth in the conference in assists/set at 6.16 and 5.86, respectively.
WILDCATS
- The Wildcats hold the overall series advantage with nine wins to UIW's eight.
- ACU is currently in 12th in the SLC with a 3-9 record; currently on a four-game losing streak.
- Kennedy Shelstead sits in fifth in the conference with a .302 attack percentage.
LADYJACKS
- SFA holds a steady lead over UIW in the head-to-head matchups, 8-2.
- The Ladyjacks are undefeated in SLC play at 12-0 and have only lost one match all season. 24-1.
- They have played good all-around volleyball as they have three players leading three separate conference categories (Danae Daron, .377 attack %; Taya Mitchell, 1.53 blocks/set; Madelynn Miller, 5.15 digs/set).
