SAN ANTONIO -- The University of the Incarnate Word men's soccer team fell, 1-0, to Utah Valley on Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
FIRST HALF:
The Cardinals led a strong offense in the first half, recording nine shots with three of them being on target, while the Wolverines countered with five shots. Utah Valley scored in the 21st minute on a penalty kick goal to take a 1-0 advantage. The Cardinals attempted to net one themselves, knocking off five shots after Utah Valley's goal, but were unable to reach the back of the net.
SECOND HALF:
The Wolverines slowed down in the second half with three shots, while the Cardinals continued to be aggressive on the pitch with seven shots and three corner kicks. Despite a strong offensive performance throughout regulation, UIW was unable to score and ultimately fell 1-0 to Utah Valley.

UP NEXT
The Cardinals travel to Kansas City, Missouri to face the University of Missouri-Kansas City on Friday. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. at Durwood Stadium.
