BEAUMONT, Texas – The University of Incarnate Word women's volleyball plays two road games this week as first they travel to Lamar on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. (CT) then to McNeese on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. (CT).
THE CARDINALS
- UIW was able obtain its first conference win last week at home against New Orleans in a 3-1 victory.
- They were led offensively by Julia Monday who finished with 20 kills; she also contributed four aces and eight digs in the two games.
- The defense was strong-handed by Alyssa Carlin who had 15 digs in the win against UNO and finished the week with 24.
- McKayla Landreth ranks third in the SLC in blocks/set with an average of 1.08 (68 total, 18 solo, 50 assist).
LAMAR
- UIW holds a 6-3 advantage in the overall series against Lamar.
- Lamar split their games last week as they swept McNeese 3-0 but fell to Houston Baptist 3-0 in their second game.
- Abigale Nash is fourth in the SLC with a 3.33 kills/set average (220 kills); defensively, they are led by Erin Pequeno who is seventh in the conference averaging 4.20 digs/set (297 digs).
McNEESE
- The Cardinals also hold a 6-3 lead in the overall series over the Cowgirls and has won the past two matches.
- In the Pokes' nine season wins, five of them have come at home. The Cowgirls were able snap a six-game losing streak last week at Sam Houston State, 3-2.
- The Cowgirls excel in service power as they have two members in the top-10 in SLC rankings: Allison Lippert is fourth with .39 average/set (27 aces) and Caitlin Sharrock is seventh with a .36 average/set (25 aces).

The Cardinals return to the McDermott Center for short two-match homestand as they face off against Abilene Christian on November 7 at 6:00 p.m. (CT) and Stephen F. Austin for Senior Day on November 9 at noon.
