SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word volleyball team starts its four-game homestand when it hosts Houston Baptist for their Faculty and Staff Appreciation game Thursday at 6 p.m. (CT) at the McDermott Center.
All faculty and staff in attendance will receive a UIW Volleyball tumbler cup, lanyard and drawstring bag.

THE CARDINALS
- UIW is led by Bethany Clapp who has recorded 210 kills on the season averaging 2.86 per set (10th in SLC).
- Carissa McGarity has the best hitting percentage of the team at .298, which ranks sixth in Southland Conference.
- Defensively, McKayla Landreth is a leader for the squad at the net with 65 blocks on the season (18 solo, 47 ast.), good for 3rd in the Southland.
SCOUTING THE HUSKIES
- Houston Baptist is 3-3 in conference play with wins against Central Arkansas (3-1), New Orleans (3-0) and McNeese (3-2).
- The Huskies boast a strong defense with 1,311 digs on the season which ranks 11th in the nation and first in the conference.

The homestand continues when the Cardinals host Sam Houston State on Saturday with first serve set for 10:30 a.m.
