HOUSTON -- The University of the Incarnate Word women's soccer team travels out Interstate-10 to face the Houston Baptist Huskies on Friday. First touch is set for 5 p.m. CT.
THE GAME
CARDINALS LAST TIME OUT
The Cardinals fought through overtime in their Oct. 6 match against Northwestern State, falling 2-1 for their first SLC loss this season.
Keeley Ayala tacked on the goal scored against the Lady Demons in the 75th minute off a penalty kick. Ayala stands third in the conference in total number of shots tallied (40), points (19) and goals (9).
Against Northwestern State, UIW recorded 11 shots with 6 on target. The Cardinals have showcased their strong offense and defense to make a united charge this season, with 74 shots in conference play (42 on frame) and four game-winning goals scored. The back line has only allowed two goals on 38 shots faced.
SLATING THE HUSKIES
HBU (2-9, 1-4 SLC) comes in to Friday off a highly offensive match against Nicholls on Oct. 6. The game saw the Huskies put 23 shots off, with only 11 of them on target. HBU came back from an early Nicholls goal to take the lead with two quick goals to secure their first SLC win (second of the season).

The Cardinals are set to face McNeese on the road on Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. CT.
