NEW ORLEANS, La. -- The University of the Incarnate Word men's golf team concluded the Battle of the Big Easy on Tuesday at English Turn Golf and Country Club. UIW, which collectively shot a two-under-par score on Monday, dropped two spots Tuesday to share a fifth-place finish with Prairie View A&M.
Southeastern Louisiana won the team championship.
NOTABLES
- John Hill, who shot a two-under-par 70 Monday, shot a three-over 75 Tuesday to lead all Cardinal golfers. He finished in a 10th-place tie for the individual lead.
- Cole Solis, Trevor Bailey, Chase Rios, and Caden Wylie also competed for UIW.
- The scheduled 72-hole tournament was shortened by a weather cancellation of Monday's second round.
COACH HUSTON SAID
"I believe they are learning the level they can play at and today was a day I felt that we had some guys not trust their games. We are looking forward to getting back to work on some areas of the game, but most importantly we want to find ways for them to believe in themselves the way I believe in them. "
