Gaels hand Cardinals loss in men's soccer season opener

MORAGA, Calif. -- The University of the Incarnate Word men's soccer team opened its regular season Friday afternoon with 6-0 loss to Saint Mary's.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
FIRST HALF: Saint Mary's jumped out to a 4-0 halftime lead. Four different St. Mary's players scored, and four different Gaels contributed assists.
 
SECOND HALF: Lucas Andrews and Anders Engebretsen each scored their second goals of the game for Saint Mary's.
 
UP NEXT
The Cardinals continue their West Coast road trip Sunday at the University of California's Edwards Stadium in Berkeley. Kickoff against the Golden Bears is at 4 p.m. (CT).
