Haley Frias and
Melina Merritt will each don a Cardinals uniform for the 110
th and final time on Saturday at 1 p.m., as the University of the Incarnate Word women's basketball team hosts rival Abilene Christian for a Senior Day battle at the McDermott Center.

Members of the UIW women's basketball program since 2014, Frias and Merritt excelled over the Cardinals' four-year transition to full NCAA Division I status. Both student-athletes have etched their names in the record books and helped UIW women's basketball take great strides that will benefit future Cardinals.

Summary: The Wildcats finished 23-9 last season, including a 16-2 mark against Southland Conference competition. ACU tied Central Arkansas for a share of the 2016-17 Southland Conference regular season championship. The Wildcats went on to defeat Oklahoma State in the first round of the WNIT, before falling to SMU, 59-51 in round two.
ACU is currently 15-12 overall and 9-8 in league action, after suffering a 78-52 loss at the hands of Stephen F. Austin on Wednesday in Abilene, Texas.
The Wildcats average 70.5 points, while surrendering 67.4 per contest. ACU shoots 42.8 percent from the floor and 34.1 percent from three-point range, while allowing 40.9 percent and 33.0 percent respectively. The Wildcats hold a +3.6 rebounding margin and a -1.8 turnover margin this season.
ACU is led by sophomore guard Breanna Wright, who averages 13.7 points, 4.6 assists, 3.7 boards and 1.7 steals. Sophomore guard Dominique Golightly pulls down a team-high 6.4 rebounds per contest, to go along with 12.5 points, 1.7 steals and 1.3 assists. Junior guard Sara Williamson averages 10.7 points, 3.7 assists, 3.6 boards, 1.7 steals and 1.0 blocks.

Abilene Christian holds a 21-8 advantage in the all-time series with UIW. The Wildcats have won the previous nine meetings, including a 58-56 victory in the most recent meeting between programs on Feb. 10 in Abilene.
