SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The University of the Incarnate Word men's basketball team ends a three-game home stand with a mid-week tilt with Southeastern Louisiana. First tip is scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday from the McDermott Center.

Summary: SLU has won four of the last six games, including an 89-84 victory over Central Arkansas last Saturday behind Jordan Capps' 26 points on 67 percent shooting (12-for-18). Marlain Veal is tied for the conference lead with 2.3 steals per game and his 6.0 assists per contest is also tops. Capps is in the Top-20 with 13.0 points per contest. Moses Greenwood is the big rebounder for the Lions, averaging 6.2 boards per game, which ranks him 12th. The Lions as a team rank 7th in scoring margin (+1.4) and 8th in rebounding (+0.3).

Summary: UIW led for more than half of Saturday's game against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, but after taking a 44-41 lead with 8:32 left in regulation, the offense went cold, as the Cardinals mustered six points in that time frame in a 56-51 loss to the Islanders, as both Shawn Johnson and Charles Brown III scored a game-high 14 points.
 
On the season, Johnson is T-2nd in the SLC with 1.8 blocked shots, T-10th with 1.6 steals, and 10th with 6.4 rebounds per game. Brown III is 16th with 13.5 points per contest and joins Christian Peevy among the top in free throw percentage, as Peevy is 5th with an 81.8 mark and Brown III is 6th with 81.7. The Cardinals as a team continue to lead the conference in blocks (5.35/gm) and free throw percentage (72.5). UIW is 11th in scoring margin (-6.0) and 12th in rebounding margin (-3.4).
