SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The University of the Incarnate Word women's basketball team was unable hand Stephen F. Austin its second Southland Conference loss on Saturday, dropping a 75-50 decision at the McDermott Center.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
 
The Cardinals (3-22, 2-12 SLC) scored first on Saturday and held an early lead, but the Ladyjacks (21-5, 13-1 SLC) erupted with an 18-2 run to close out the first quarter.
 
Things didn't improve for UIW in the second as SFA's lead ballooned to 27 points late in the period.
 
The Cardinals shot just 23.3 percent from the floor, 50 percent at the free throw line and missed all 10 three-point tries in the first half.
 
At the break, the Lady Jacks held a 39-15 advantage.
 
UIW fought back in the third, outscoring SFA in the frame, but the Lady Jacks cruised down the stretch.
 
THE BREAKDOWN
 
The Cardinals shot 34.5 percent from the field and 25 percent from beyond the arc on the afternoon, while allowing 41.0 percent and 46.7 percent respectively.
 
The Lady Jacks dominated the battle of the boards, 47-29, while picking up a 12-3 edge on second chance points. SFA earned a 20-12 advantage on points off turnovers, a 26-15 edge on bench points and a 4-0 advantage on fast break points.
 
LEADERS
 
Imani Robinson, Quincy Baker and Olivia Noah combined for 39 of UIW's 50 points. Robinson and Baker added a combined 11 rebounds, 4 blocks, 2 assists and 2 steals.
 
Stevi Parker led the Lady Jacks with 19 points, 7 boards and 2 assists.
