NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The University of the Incarnate Word football team will look to put its nonconference schedule in the rearview mirror as the squad enters Southland Conference play at 6 p.m. on Saturday at Stephen F. Austin.
OPENING KICK
The Cardinals (0-2) will welcome an opportunity to play in their home state of Texas after traveling more than 6,500 miles over the first two weeks of the 2017 season. UIW dropped a 66-0 decision to FBS opponent Fresno State in week one, before a return trip to California for a 56-22 defeat at Sacramento State in week two.
Saturday's contest will be the second consecutive game for Lumberjacks (0-2) on their home field at Homer Bryce Stadium. SFA suffered a 58-14 loss at the hands of FBS opponent SMU in Dallas, before a 51-14 home-opening loss to Southern Utah in Nacogdoches.
