Monroe, LA – The University of the Incarnate Word softball team finished their second game in the past many days on Wednesday in a 6-1 loss against University of Louisiana-Monroe at Surfaces Field.
After being held to one hit against Baylor, the offense was once again dormant as the Cardinals only collected three hits as a team.
Bridget Stein got the start in the pitchers circle for UIW (4-20, 0-3), and she struggled in the first innings allowing two runs, one earned, on two hits in the inning. In the top of the third, Baily Thomas blasted her first colligate homerun to bring the Cardinals to within one at 2-1.
The Warhawks would go on to score three more runs to get the 6-1 victory over UIW. Stein picks up her fifth loss of the season after allowing four earned runs on five hits. Jessie Watts went the full distance giving up just one earned run on three hits.

Brigitte Gauvin each had a hits.
Ann and Hunter Logan led ULM with one homerun each while Sydney McKay added two hits and two runs scored.
