SAN ANTONIO, Tx — The University of the Incarnate Word Men's soccer team put up a tough fight but No. 18 Seattle was just too much and pulled out a 2-0 win.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Seattle's (9-2-1) Gabriel Ruiz recorded the first goal of the game in the 39
th minute, assisted by recorded Alex Roldan. The Cardinals (3-7-1) would only put up two shots in the first half against the Redhawks six. UIW would go in the half down 1-0. In the second half Seattle would see the back of the net one more time, with a well-placed ball from Alex Roldan that found the back of the net after a foul from about 30 yards out.
LEADERS
Kas Van Eekelen and
Carlos Guerrero led the Cardinals with one shot on goal.
Ruiz Gabriel recorder a goal, and Akex Roland had an assist and a goal on the day.
UP NEXT
The Cardinals go back on the road and face Grand Canyon Oct. 13 at 6p.m.
