Cardinals Fall to Stephen F. Austin, 4-0

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The University of the Incarnate Word women's soccer team played most of the first half in the Stephen F. Austin zone, but the Ladyjacks scored three times in 12 minutes for a 3-0 halftime lead and a 4-0 victory over the Cardinals Friday afternoon from Benson Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Despite the pressure, the Cardinals (2-12-0, 1-8-0 SLC) could not muster any attack, as SFA (10-6-0, 7-2-0) outshot the hosts, 6-2, in the first half.

Ladyjack leading scorer, Hanna Barker, started the scoring in the 33rd minute, as she received a pass from Sophia Fondren for a breakaway. The other two SFA goals – from Kennedy Rose and Chloe Fowler – came off corner kicks. SFA held a 5-2 advantage in corners in the half and 9-3 in the match.

In the 58th minute, Sabrina Sergovina received a nice pass from Michaela Mencacci for a 4-0 lead.
