SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus may be closing, but fans of the University of the Incarnate Word women's basketball team can still watch the Cardinals attempt to tame the Lions as the squad welcomes Southeastern Louisiana to the McDermott Convocation Center at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

UIW (4-13, 2-4 SLC) opened the year with nine consecutive losses, before picking up four straight wins for the first time since November 2013. The Cardinals started 2-0 in Southland Conference play, including an 85-76 victory over the Lions (3-14, 1-5 SLC) on Jan. 2, but have since dropped four straight.

Summary: The Cardinals started the season, 0-9, before rattling off four consecutive victories, including two against Southland opponents. UIW has since dropped four straight games. UIW led for the majority of the game, but 21 unanswered points by the Huskies over the third and fourth quarters proved to be the Cardinals' undoing.
