SAN MARCOS, TEXAS – In their final performance before the Southland Conference championships next weekend at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, the University of the Incarnate Word track & field teams showed they are ready for the season-ending event. (

The Cardinals made the short trip to Texas State University for the Bobcat Classic on Saturday. The women's team set a pair of school records in the field events.
Gabrielle Estrada (Boerne/FEAST) set the school record in the discus with a toss of 149-8.
Sarea Alexander (San Antonio/MacArthur HS) extended her own school record in the long jump with a leap of 19-11 to finish in second place overall and as the top collegiate jumper.
Mahogani Frazier set a personal record in the triple jump with a mark of 38-5 while
Ashley Joyner set two personal records. First, she cleared 5-7 in the high jump and then she ran a time of 24.93 in the 200 meters.
Myah Antwi heaved the shot put 48-0.5, the second best toss in school history.
The UIW men's team was led by their 4x100-meter relay team that ran the second best time in school history.

Jamarkese Williams,
Uchenna Nnaji and
Clinton Cole finished second in the event with a time of 40.24. In addition,
Jacob Ulbricht cleared a personal best in the pole vault with a height of 16-8.75.
