SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS – The University of the Incarnate Word women's basketball team will look to get back on track when they host Stephen F. Austin in a Southland Conference game on Wednesday night at 6 p.m. at the McDermott Center.
The Cardinals (6-19, 3-11) are looking to snap a five-game losing streak in conference play and have four games remaining in the season. They have played several close games, especially at home. Five conference losses at home have been by five points or less.
As a team, UIW is averaging 57.5 points per game and is shooting 38.4 percent from the field. Their three-point percentage stands at 30.3 and they are shooting 69.5 percent from the free throw line. The leading scorer is

Yvonne Maosa (Arlington/Mansfield HS) leads the team in rebounding with 6.3 per game, while scoring 8.8 per game.
Brianna Williams (Wylie/Mesquite HS) is second on the team in scoring with 11.8 points per game, while grabbing 4.0 rebounds and dishing out 1.6 assists per game.
Stephen F. Austin (15-10, 9-5) currently ranks fourth in the conference and is behind Northwestern State, Central Arkansas and Abilene Christian. The Lumberjacks are coming into Wednesday night's game with an eight-game winning streak. Their last loss came over a month ago, January 21 against Lamar. They are averaging 67.9 points per game and shoot 43.0 percent from the field. Taylor Ross averages a team best 16.3 points per game while Brentney Branch scores 11.0 per game. Ross has made 56 threes and shoots 38.9 percent from beyond the arc, which is fourth best in the conference. In total, they have four players scoring in double figures. Stevi Parker, who averages 10.4 per game, also leads the team in rebounding with 7.9 per game.
