SAN ANTONIO, Tx – After two weeks without a league game, the University of the Incarnate Word men's soccer team will look to get right back to where they left off when they host Air Force on Sunday at 1 p.m. at Benson Stadium.
OPENING KICK
After starting the season with four losses, the Cardinals (2-4-1) haven't lost a game since. They beat Oral Roberts 5-2, tied 1-1 against Central Arkansas and then beat the same Central Arkansas 2-1 in overtime. This Sunday, they will look to continue this streak as they begin Western Athletic Conference play. Last year, UIW started conference play with a 3-2 win against CSU Bakersfield and finished with a 4-6 record in the WAC.

The Cardinals' offense struggled out of the gates, but have since meshed much better and have scored eight goals in their last three games.
Daniel Nevarez earned the WAC offensive player of the week earlier in the season with his performance against Oral Roberts in which he scored a goal and collected two assists.
SERIES HISTORY
This will be the third time these two teams face each other. Air Force has come out on top both times; one in San Antonio and one in Colorado. In the two games, the Falcons outscored the Cardinals 3-1.
UP NEXT
The Cardinals will continue WAC play with two more home games this coming week. They will host the University of Missouri-Kansas City on Thursday at 7 p.m., and UNLV on Saturday at noon.
STAY TUNED
The Cardinals will then head out west for two WAC road games against Bakersfield and San Jose State Oct. 14 and Oct. 16, respectively.
