LINCOLN, NEBRASKA – The University of the Incarnate Word men's basketball team will attempt to get back on the winning track on Wednesday night when they travel to the University of Nebraska for a 7 p.m. contest.

The Cardinals (5-1) are coming off their first loss of the season handed to them by UTEP on Monday night.  After a poor shooting performance against the Miners, the Cardinals hope to regain their form against the Cornhuskers (5-2).

UIW comes into the game as one of the highest scoring teams in the country at 86.2 points per game.  Nearly 22 points per game comes from the foul line where they lead the country with 21.8 free throws made per game.  Senior Denzel Livingston (Houston/Waltrip HS) leads the team with 20.7 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.8 steals per game.  Freshman Jontrell Walker (Aurora, IL/West Aurora HS) has been on a hot streak scoring over 20 points in three of his last four games, including 30 at UTEP.  He is averaging 19.0 points per game and shooting 50 percent from the field.  Kyle Hittle (New Braunfels/New Braunfels HS) is the team's third leading scorer at 16.6 points per game and top rebounder with 7.4 per contest.

The Cornhuskers are also trying to rebound from an earlier loss this week when they were defeated by Creighton on Sunday.  Terran Petteway, the leading scorer in the Big Ten last year, leads the team with 21.0 points and 5.1 rebounds per game.  Shavon Shields is putting in 18.1 points per game and leads the team with 7.0 rebounds per game.  The two led Nebraska to the NCAA Tournament last year.

The game will be shown online at ESPN3.com and the Watch ESPN app with Shawn Kenney and Mac McCausland on the call.  Tip-off is scheduled for 7:02 p.m. at the Pinnacle Bank Arena.
