KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI – The University of the Incarnate Word men's basketball team is on the road for a fourth straight game when they take on UM-Kansas City on Saturday at 6:05 p.m. at Municipal Auditorium.
The Cardinals (7-1) are in the middle of a seven game road trip and are currently 2-1. They are coming off an 82-80 victory at Grand Canyon on Wednesday and have moved up to 32
nd in the RPI. The team is averaging 84.1 points per game and holding opponents to 70.6 points per game.
UIW is led by senior guard
Denzel Livingston (Houston/Waltrip HS) who had 34 points his last time out. He is averaging 21.3 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.9 steals per game. Freshman
Jontrell Walker (Aurora, IL/West Aurora HS) and junior
Kyle Hittle (New Braunfels/New Braunfels HS) are the next two offensive options for the team. Walker leads all freshmen in the nation in scoring at 19.4 points per game and is shooting 44.0 percent from three-point range. Hittle has been extremely efficient shooting 55.2 percent from three-point range while averaging 15.0 points and 6.6 rebounds per game.
The Kangaroos (4-7) are 3-0 at home and defeated Nebraska-Omaha in their last outing. Martez Harrison leads the team with 17.2 points, 4.2 assists and 2.5 steals per game. Shayok Shayok is the top rebounder on the team with 7.0 per game. As a team, UMKC is averaging 68.5 points per game and allowing 69.0 points per game.
