SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS – The University of the Incarnate Word men's basketball team is home on Tuesday night against Huston-Tillotson University at 7 p.m. on Employee Appreciation Night at the McDermott Center.
The Cardinals (1-0) opened their season on Friday with an 89-49 win over UT-Tyler.  Five players scored in double figures with 
Kyle Hittle (New Braunfels/New Braunfels HS) leading the way with 19 points.  Freshmen 
Traylin Farris (Houston/Manvel HS) and 
Shawn Johnson each posted double-doubles in their first collegiate games.
The Cardinals are now 15-1 at the McDermott Center over the last two seasons.  The only loss in that span came against Oral Roberts on a last second shot last year.  The Cardinals defeated the Rams last year, 85-78 in Austin and they are 25-2 all-time against Huston-Tillotson.
For the Rams, this will be their season opener.  They played an exhibition game on Friday at UTSA and lost 92-74.  In that game, Malcolm Ballard led the team with 19 points, four steals and four assists.
