EDINBURG, TEXAS – On the final day of their trip down South, the University of the Incarnate Word men's tennis team was defeated, 4-2 by University of New Orleans at the Orville Tennis Center. (Results)

New Orleans started the match by winning two of the three doubles matches.  Luke Trautmann (San Antonio/Health Careers HS) and Tucker Brown (New Braunfels/New Braunfels HS) grabbed a win for the Cardinals (10-5) at #2 doubles with a 9-8 win, but UNO picked up the one doubles point available.

Trautmann continued his strong play in singles with a 6-3, 6-4 win over David Malmgren at #6 singles.  Leonard Ivic (Podstrana, Croatia/Economic Administration) added an easy 6-3, 6-0 win at the #1 spot over Ricardo Campos, but the Cardinals could not keep pace in the other matches.

The Cardinals are back in action on Wednesday at home against St. Edward's at 2 p.m.
