SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS - The Incarnate Word men's tennis team dropped to 1-1 in the Lone Star Conference after they lost to 14th ranked Abilene Christian 7-2 at the Mabry Tennis Center on Sunday afternoon. 

The Cardinals (5-3) failed to pick up a point to start the match in doubles competition.  In #2 doubles Leonard Ivic (Podstrana, Croatia/Economic Administration) and Aiden DeLeon (Corpus Cristi/Flour Bluff) lost a heartbreaker, 9-8 to Borja Cortes and Jason Proctor.  UIW lost the remaining two matches, 8-5. 

The Wildcats (10-6) took four of the six singles matches to seal the match. Incarnate Word got wins from Brandon Davis (New Braunfels, TX/New Braunfels) and Mario Jakovljevic (Osijek, Croatia/Davor Hilas).  Davis improved to 7-1 on the season in singles competition which is a team best.  He beat Jason Proctor 6-3, 6-3.  Jakovljevic pick up a two set 7-6 (5), 6-2 victory over Nicklas Wingora. 

The Cardinals will return to action on Friday as they host Laredo Community College at 1:00 PM at the Mabry Tennis Center.
