Box Score PORTALES, NEW MEXICO – Despite 18 points apiece from senior Dionelle Rucker (San Antonio/New Life Christian Academy) and junior Andre Corley (Baytown/Ross S. Sterling HS), the University of the Incarnate Word men's basketball team dropped an 86-70 road decision to Eastern New Mexico on Saturday in Greyhound Arena.  (Box Score)

The Cardinals (13-11, 8-7) and the Greyhounds (11-13, 8-8) traded the lead nine times during the game and had six ties.  At half time, the Greyhounds had just a one point lead on the Cardinals, 37-36 and the Cardinals would take a 5-point lead with 15 minutes left in the game.  However, a 16-0 Greyhound run sparked by a three-pointer by Dennis Hardwell would send UIW home with a loss.

The Cardinals shot 48.1 percent from the floor, went 4-of-10 from behind the arc and were 6-for-11 from the foul line.  Rucker went 7-of-15 from the field, while Corley went 6-of-9 from the floor and 4-of-6 from three-point range.  Two other Cardinals had double-figure games.  Senior Lyn'Dale Brown (San Antonio/Judson) picked up 15 points and sophomore Denzel Livingston (Houston/Waltrip) contributed 12 points and led the team in rebounds with eight.  UIW ended the game with 28 rebounds, 13 turnovers, five blocks and five steals.

The Greyhounds shot 52.4 percent from the field, went 9-of-16 from three-point range and 11-for-17 from the line.  Three players had double-figure games for Eastern New Mexico and all three scored 20 points or more.  With 21 points, Lawrence Domingo and Rodney Blackmon led the Greyhounds, but Rafael Love was just one point behind the duo with 20 points. Love also led the team in boards with 12.  The Greyhounds had 39 rebounds, nine turnovers, a single block and six steals.

The Cardinals are back in action on Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. against Abilene Christian University at the McDermott Center for their last home game of the season.
