SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS - The University of the Incarnate Word men's basketball team returns to the court on Monday at 7 p.m. after nearly a two week layoff. The Cardinals (10-1) host Huston-Tillotson at the McDermott Center.
The Cardinals and Rams (1-8) met earlier in the season on November 16 in Austin, TX with UIW grabbing an 85-78 win. Incarnate Word had five players score in double figures in the game with
Kyle Hittle (New Braunfels/New Braunfels HS) leading the team with 21 points and 11 rebounds. The Rams had four players reach double figures including Terry Johnson who finished with 22 points and 10 boards.
The Cardinals are averaging 84.5 points per game for the year and are shooting extremely well. They are hitting on 49.0 percent of their field goal attempts and 41.2 percent of their three-point attempts. Hittle and
Denzel Livingston (Houston/Waltrip HS) are both averaging at least 17.0 points per game for UIW. On the inside
Ian Markolf (San Antonio/Churchill HS) leads the Southland Conference with 8.9 rebounds per game.
