Cardinals Host St. Thomas

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS – The University of the Incarnate Word women's basketball team returns home on Wednesday night at 5:30 p.m. for a rematch with University of St. Thomas at the McDermott Center.

The Cardinals (5-4) defeated the Celts (6-5) in overtime, 71-67 on November 17 in Houston.  UIW is currently 2-0 at home on the season, but it has been nearly a month since their 99-73 victory over Our Lady of the Lake.

The Cardinals boast three players averaging in double figures on the season.  Rose Whitehead (Grapevine/Grapevine HS) leads the team with 15.0 points per game and she pulls down 6.6 rebounds per game.  Ify Mora (Grand Prairie/Arlington Bowie HS) is averaging 11.6 points, 8.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game.  Joslinn Douglas (Austin/Del Valle HS) chips in with 11.3 points per game.

The Celts are averaging 63.0 points per game and allowing 59.9 per game.  Chelsea Davis is the top player on the team with 14.9 points and 10.1 rebounds per game.  Maghen Lormand is the only other player on the team scoring in double figures with 11.0 points per game.
