SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS – Southland Conference rival Oral Roberts University makes their first ever trip to Benson Stadium on Friday at 7 p.m. to play the University of the Incarnate Word in women's soccer.
The Cardinals (7-3, 1-2) are coming off a 4-2 win at Nicholls State on Sunday for the team's first-ever Southland Conference victory. The Cardinals have scored 30 goals in their seven wins and only one goal in the three losses. Seniors
Katie Miller (Tyler/Tyler JC) and
Sydney Solomon (Schertz/Randolph HS) are the two leading scorers. Miller has six goals and three assists while Solomon has five goals and four assists.
The Golden Eagles (8-2, 3-0) are one of the top teams in the conference and have outscored the opposition 29-11 on the season. They have three players who have all scored five goals led by Jennifer Abernathy who also has six assists giving her 16 points. Mary-Kate Halsmer also has five goals and four of them have been game-winning goals. Maddie Rhodes has been the team's top goalkeeper with a 0.84 goals against average.
Following Friday's game, the Cardinals will stay at home for a match with Central Arkansas on Sunday at 1 p.m.
