SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS – The University of the Incarnate Word men's basketball team will look to extend their season best winning streak to four games on Thursday night when they host Lone Star Conference rival West Texas A&M at 7:30 at the McDermott Center.
The Cardinals (7-5, 3-1) are currently in second place in the LSC after defeating Tarleton State on Saturday.
Dionelle Rucker (San Antonio/New Life Christian Academy) leads the team with 17.6 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game.
Denzel Livingston (Houston/Waltrip HS) chips in with 12.6 points and a league best 2.4 steals per game. The team averages nearly 75 points per game and is shooting an LSC best 48.9 percent from the field.
The Buffalos (10-2, 2-2) were ranked nationally during the preseason and have lost their two games by a combined four points. They are outscoring their opponents by over 10 points per game and holding the opposition to 54 points per game. Donald Sims, the LSC Preseason Player of the Year, leads the team with 14.9 points and 8.3 rebounds per game while shooting 71.8 percent from the field.
Incarnate Word will honor our nation's wounded heroes during their game with the Buffalos. In partnership with Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) and the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics, the UIW athletics department has invited a number of local Wounded Warriors to take part in game-related activities.
