Men's Basketball Plays St. Mary's

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS – The University of the Incarnate Word men's basketball team will take the short trip across town on Tuesday night to play St. Mary's University at 7:30 at Bill Greehey Arena.

The Cardinals (4-3) and Rattlers (4-1) met three weeks ago at the McDermott Center and it was St. Mary's coming out on top, 94-87.  The Cardinals enter the game coming off a nice win over Cameron, 74-69 on Saturday.

The Cardinals are averaging 75.6 points per game and shooting 47.9 percent from the field while forcing 18.0 turnovers per game.  Dionelle Rucker (San Antonio/New Life Christian Academy) leads the team with 20.7 points and 6.9 rebounds per game and is shooting 57.7 percent from the field.  Three other players are averaging at least 11.0 points per game including senior point guard Lyn'Dale Brown (San Antonio/Judson HS) who averages 11.1 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 2.6 steals per game.

The Rattlers are averaging 73.8 points per game and shooting 55.0 percent from the field.  They have shot at least 49.0 percent from the field in every game this season.  Kevin Kotzur leads the team with 18.2 points and 11.2 rebounds per game and has five double-doubles.  Daryell Taylor chips in with 15.8 points per game.
