Men's Basketball Welcomes Dustdevils

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS – The University of the Incarnate Word men's basketball team is back to action Wednesday night as they host Texas A&M-International for their final game before Christmas at the McDermott Center at 7:00 p.m.

The Cardinals (4-5) will matchup against the Dustdevils (5-3) for the second time this season. Incarnate Word defeated A&M-International, 72-68 on November 17 in Laredo.

The Dustdevils are led by Jordan Clark who averages 12.3 points per game and Johnel Gray who averages 10.1 points per game.  As a team, the Dustdevils average 68.5 points per game and hold their opponents to just 63 points per game. The last time these two teams met, Matthew Culliver led TAMIU with 19 points. Gray picked up 14 points and had a team high nine rebounds.
         
The Cardinals are led by Dionelle Rucker (San Antonio/New Life Christian Academy) who is averaging 17.7 points per game. He also leads the team in blocks per game with 10 on the season. Denzel Livingston (Houston/Waltrip HS) and Lyn'Dale Brown (San Antonio/Judson HS) are the other Cardinals that are averaging in double figures with 11.8 and 11.6 points per game, respectively.  As a team, the Cardinals are averaging 73 points per contest while shooting 47 percent from the field.
         
The last time these two teams met in San Antonio, Incarnate Word picked up a 62-59 win on February 11, 2010. The Cardinals have an all-time record of 8-3 against the Dustdevils.
