TWIN RELAY WINS PACE CARDINALS

Incarnate Word swept the relay events at the annual Trinity Relays with George Alicea as the common factor.

Alicea led off both the 4x100 and 4x400 relay events and the Cardinals came home first in both. His partners in the shorter 4x100 were Adan Narvaez, his twin brother Christian Alicea with Leon Knights anchoring. Their winning time was 42.79

The group running after George in the 4x400 was Zachary Kurz, Taylor Echevarria and Corey McDonnough. This victorious time was 3:14.33.

The Cardinals got two second places as Sebastien Jaraba-Heffner went 1:53.54 in the 800-meters and Chance Dziuk threw the discus 153-02.

Earlier in the day Knights gave UIW a third place finish in the long jump with a leap of 22-03.00.

The Cardinals now will travel to San Angelo on April 16 for the Angelo State Invitational.
