The UIW women's basketball team fell to West Texas A&M on the road Wednesday night, 62-44, in the final road contest of the season for the Cardinals.
The loss puts Incarnate Word's overall record at 8-17 and their Lone Star Conference record at 4-9.
Kaylin Dugie and Ifunanya Mora were the only two player from UIW to score in double figures, each with 10 points against the Lady Buffs. Sophomore guard Katy Cooke ended the game with 9 points, fouling out with 6:20 left in the second half.
The Cardinals' latest lead in the game was at the 14:14-mark of the first half when they pulled ahead, 10-8. After that, West Texas pulled ahead and stayed ahead the rest of the game.
UIW wraps its season this Saturday at home against Texas A&M University-Kingsville at 2 p.m. The sports weekend has been declared a “Red Out” weekend, so fans are encouraged to come support their Cardinals wearing red to the McDermott Center.
