The University of the Incarnate Word women suffered a 57-44 loss on the road to Cameron University on Saturday afternoon.
With both teams grabbing nearly the same amount of rebounds (38 for Cameron, 34 for UIW) and committing a nearly identical amount of turnovers (19 for the Aggies, 16 for the Cardinals), the only real stat to justify the Incarnate Word loss was a 17-for-60 performance shooting (along with an 8-for-13 showing at the free throw line) by UIW.
The team's 28.3% shooting percentage from the floor was the lowest for the team this season. Also hurting UIW's chances to win on the road were zero points coming off the team's bench compared to the modest 11 points for Cameron by its bench.
Incarnate Word's overall record is now 6-4 and 2-4 in the Lone Star Conference.
Katy Cooke and Ashlyn Green both scored 10 points to lead UIW in scoring against the Aggies. Jocelyn Jarmon had six points, but grabbed 10 rebounds.
The Cardinals will be off until after the Christmas holiday. The team's return to action happens on December 30th at St. Mary's University in a neutral-site matchup against University of Arkansas-Monticello at 3 p.m.
The team will play a second game at St. Mary's on the 31st, taking on University of Central Oklahoma at 1 p.m.
