CARDINALS DROP ROAD MATCH TO TEXANNS, 1-3

Coming off a 3-0 loss to Texas A&M Kingsville, the Cardinals can't muster up a win in Stephenville against Tarleton State.

The first few points were set between the Cardinals and the TexAnns.  Tarleton kicked it into high gear 14 points in going on a 10-1 run.

Senior middle blocker Daniella Vidaurri did her best to keep UIW in the game and on the board with 16 kills and junior outside hitter Stephanie Bonura was close behind her with 10.  Danielle Suarez, sophomore setter, finished the afternoon with 22 assists for the Cardinals.

Defensively, while junior libero Lydia Werchan led UIW with 18 digs, the Cardinals only had 3 total team blocks compared to the TexAnn's 11.

Tarleton's setters, senior Jessie Hartman and sophomore Danielle Barker, led the TexAnn defense with 25 and 23 assists respectively.

On the other end of many of those assists was Stacie Murrah, sophomore right side, with 13 kills.  Tarleton held a .307 hitting percentage over the four-set match.

The Cardinal's next conference match is against Angelo Stateon Oct. 11.  Game is set to start in San Angelo at 7 p.m.
