ASU KNOCK CARDINALS OUT IN FOUR

Junior outside hitter Stephanie Bonura had 10 kills against the Rambelles.

After taking ASU to a close five-set match in September at home, the Cardinals fall in four in San Angelo on Tuesday. The Cardinals are now 9-10 and 5-7 in the LSC.

Sarah Nordman, senior setter, stole the show offensively and led the Cardinals in assists with 41.  Senior middle blocker Daniella Vidaurri led UIW in kills with 16, while senior middle blocker Anna Herr and junior outside hitter Stephanie Bonura contributed with 13 and 8 kills respectively.

Junior libero Lydia Werchan held the Cardinal defense together and led the team in digs with 26.

The Rambelles (21-2, 10-1 LSC) had a strong game against the Cardinals. 

Junior setter Alex Woolsey led the Rambelles in sets with 59 and senior outside hitter Celeste Bonter made sure to connect with as many of those sets as she could, leading ASU in kills with 18.

Freshman libero Shelby Wilt had 22 digs for ASU, leading them in defense.  The Rambelles had 7 total team blocks in the match,

The Cardinals return to San Antonio for a set of three home games.  That set will begin with West Texas A&M on Oct. 13 at 7 p.m.
