The University of the Incarnate Word women suffered a tough loss on the road against Tarleton State University on Wednesday night, losing 81-51 to the TexAnns in Stephenville.
Freshman center Rose Whitehead led the Cardinals (5-10 overall, 1-2 Lone Star) with 16 points and 8 rebounds, while Chloe Wallace had 12 points and Ifunanya Mora scored 10.
A major reason for UIW's loss was the 29-to-16 turnover differential in favor of the home team, which helped Tarleton recover from an early Incarnate Word lead and never look back.
The Cardinals host Midwestern State on Saturday at 2 p.m. in the McDermott Center.
