SENIORS KEEP CARDINALS WINNING

Jasmine Smith scored 15 points in Saturday's win.

In the University of the Incarnate Word's second Heartland Conference game of the 2009-2010 season, the senior quartet of Jasmine Smith, Cinnamon Kava, Hayley Harvey and Nia Torru all scored in double digits en route to a 66-48 victory over Oklahoma Panhandle State University.

The Cardinals (6-4 overall, 2-0 in conference) pressured the Aggies (4-7) into 20 turnovers while Incarnate Word had just 12 in the game.

Smith led UIW with 15 points while Kava had 14, Harvey 13 and Torru 11.

Incarnate Word outscored OPSU 41 to 25 in the second half.

Up next for UIW, the Cardinals will face Texas A&M-Commerce in the St. Mary's Classic on December 29th at 2 p.m. Incarnate Word will then take on University of Central Oklahoma on December 30th at 2 p.m. before finally returning home on January 2nd.
