Tony Miller became the Head Swimming and Diving Coach on at the University of the Incarnate Word in the summer of 2024. Miller returns to his home state of Texas after spending a year as the Associate Head Coach at Howard University.
In his first season coach Miller made a huge impact on the program leading the Cardinals to a second place finsih at MPSF Championships. The 2024-25 season saw six school records broken (50 free, 500 free, 1,000, mile, 200 medley realy, 400 free relay). There were 27 swimmers and divers who were named to the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation All-Confernce Team, including the Swimmer of the Year, Jada Ashford, and the Diver of the Year, Roldan Salas. On top of this 25 student-athletes were named to the All-Academic Team.
Miller spent a year coaching at Howard. While with the Bison he was the lead recruiter for the swim and dive program and helped guide the women's team to the best conference finish in school history, taking second at the Northeast Conference (NEC) Championships.
Miller swam all four years at Xavier University where he excelled as freshman with a program top-20 time in the 100 fly and finialed in several BIG EAST Championships events.
After finishing his collegiate swimming career, Miller moved to coaching both on the collegiate level at Xavier and Rice, along with in the community, leading the Mercy Health club team and serving as an instructor for the Mercy Fairfield - Forest Park Swimming Safety Initiative.
